The latest series from Marvel Studios will start streaming on Disney Plus next week. It tells the story of Kamala Khan, a teenager of Pakistani descent who lives in New Jersey and finds her dreams of being a superhero coming to life.<\/p>\n<p>Kamala, played by Pakistani-Canadian Iman Vellani, is a first generation Muslim immigrant. The character is being celebrated worldwide as being a step forward in the representation of Muslims and South Asians in the mainstream media. The rest of the cast is also fittingly representative and this was evident on the red carpet yesterday.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_82405\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-82405\" style=\"width: 399px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-82405\" src=\"https:\/\/test.somethinghaute.com\/images\/2022\/06\/Iman-225x300.jpeg\" alt=\"Ms. Marvel\" width=\"399\" height=\"532\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-82405\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Iman Vellani at the world premiere of Ms. Marvel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Iman was joined by Rish Shah, an Asian-British actor who plays Kamala&#8217;s love interest in the series. Zenobia Shroff and Mohan Kapoor were also present. Both actors are of Indian descent and play Kamala&#8217;s parents.
