The unfortunate news was confirmed by his family. His wife shared that he had been unwell for the past year and a half.<\/p>\n<p>Following a gastric surgery, his health deteriorated. The actor&#8217;s funeral prayers will be held today (Sunday) in Bahria Town, reported news channels.<\/p>\n<p>Sohail was born in Lahore where he completed his education. Later he joined Radio Pakistan and from 1978 to 1988 worked as a radio jockey.<\/p>\n<p>He began a career in theatre and also starred in dramas such as <em>Laag, Piyas, Chand Girhan<\/em> and <em>Kajal Ghar<\/em>.He made his silver screen debut with the film <em>Murad<\/em> in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>Following the news of his passing, several celebrities took to social media to express their grief.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A screen icon and a national treasure.
