Zunaira Inam recently tied the knot with actor Usman Mukhtar and since then, social media has been admiring the cute couple. Recently in a Q&A session on Instagram, Zunaira opened up about how different her life has been post-marriage and raised a very important question.<\/p>\n

A fan\/follower asked her how she’s dealing with married life.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s been great so far, Alhamdulillah! The only thing I\u2019ve been struggling with is referring to my husband\u2019s house as [my] home,” she said answering the question.<\/p>\n

Women in our society are often conditioned to think that once they get married, the home they grew up in is not theirs anymore. They are expected to believe that the only home they have is their husband’s house.<\/p>\n

Zunaira raised a very important question regarding the matter.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut on a deeper level, why should a woman have to choose? Why can\u2019t both homes just be home? They should be.”<\/p>\n

Recently, Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai who received major backlash for her views regarding marriage also addressed the same issue in an interview with British Vogue<\/em>.<\/p>\n

“I wasn\u2019t against marriage, but I was cautious about its practice. I questioned the patriarchal roots of the institution, the compromises women are expected to make after the wedding, and how laws regarding relationships are influenced by cultural norms and misogyny in many corners of the world.
